Cinnamon Pass to Lake City
Aug 24 @ 9:30 am – 5:00 pm

Assuming the weather cooperates, Lester and Ruth will lead a trip over Cinnamon Pass and on into Lake City with a side trip up Wager Gulch to Carson Ghost Town. Cinnamon Pass is rated moderate (3) with Wager Gulch being more difficult, maybe a 4. This will be a long day so be sure to bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water and a full tank of gas. Our route home from Lake City will depend on time, weather and how everyone is feeling. We will use CB radios for communication.

If interested plan to meet in SIlverton at 9:30am on Tuesday, August 24th at the gas station on 550.

Terry H. will lead Taylor and Pearl Passes on Saturday, Sept 4th. Plan to meet at the Taylor Park Store at 9:30am with a full tank of gas, lunch, water and snacks. Gas is available at the store. Trails for this day are rated a 5.

Terry H. will lead a combination of Tincup and Hancock Pass (this day is rated a 4). Meet at the Taylor Park Store at 9:30am. Have a full tank of gas (available at the Taylor Park Store), lunch, water and snacks.

Poughkeepsie Gulch

NOTE – Time has changed to 9am. James W. will lead Poughkeepsie Gulch on Sunday, September 12th. Meet at Downtown (Old) City Market at 9:00am. Have a full tank of gas, lunch, water and snacks. It has been some time since James ran this trail so he would like experienced participate along. Please contact him if you are experienced on Poughkeepsie and plan to attend. Poughkeepsie Gulch is rated a 6.

Roubideau Jeep Road Work Day
Sep 25 @ 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Matt and Lisa G. will lead Roubideau Jeep Road Work Day

September 25th, departing downtown City Market at 8:30am. Bring gloves and lopping shears if possible. A bow saw might be useful. If we’re lucky the loggers and ranchers will have cleared most trail obstructions and we’ll only have to trim encroaching brush. If we have a large group and people who know the trail, we might split into two groups and work in from each entrance.

Have a full tank of gas, bring lunch, water and snacks. Trail is probably rated a “3”.

Leroux Creek Area

Eddie and Linnea will lead an exploration of the Leroux Creek area. Plan to leave Downtown (Old) City Market at 9am. Have a full tank of gas. Bring chairs, water, snacks, and, maybe, a coat. Leaders will provide hot dogs and brats so also bring chips or something else to share. If hot dogs / brats aren’t your lunch of choice, feel free to also bring your own lunch. Trail is rated a 1 or 2.

Contact Linnea if you need to meet the group elsewhere along the proposed route out of Delta.

Storm King Mt area

Eddie and Linnea will lead a short afternoon run in the Storm King Mountain area. Have a full tank of gas; bring water and snacks. As this is an afternoon run, no need to bring lunch. Plan supper with the group at Culver’s in Montrose on our return. Trail is rated a 1 or 2.

Poughkeepsie Gate – CANCELLED

This trip has been cancelled due to snowfall in the San Juans. Watch this website for possible rescheduling information.

Rick A. will lead a trip to close the gates on Poughkeepsie Gulch for the season. Plan to meet at South City Market at 8:30am. Have a full tank of gas, lunch, water and snacks. THe 15th was chosen as the date to do this as rifle hunting season begins on the 16th.

Trail of the month-Moab
Mar 18 @ 9:00 am – Mar 20 @ 10:00 am

Trail of the Month in Moab with Lester and Ruth. On March 18th meet at City Market, Moab at 9:00 am. Hidden Canyon and a side trip to Tusher Tunnel. Bring full tank of gas, lunch, water, snacks, etc. Both trails are rated easy.
Red Rockers trail of the month is: Rainbow-Spire rated a 4. Meet at North parking lot of City Market, Moab at 9:00 am. Bring a lunch, plenty of water and a full tank of gas

Phoenix, Az exploring
Mar 27 – Mar 30 all-day

During the week of March 27th, 2022. Lester and Ruth will be leading trails in the Phoenix, AZ area.
Plan to arrive in Phoenix or Phoenix area some time on Sunday, March 27th; plans now are to meet at Best Western Plus at 1563 S Gilbert in Mesa each morning of the 28th, 29th and 30th at 9am; although this may be subject to change. Please have a full tank of gas, lunch, water, snacks, etc when meeting.

* 3 days of jeep rides (March 28, 29 and 30) to include Montana Mountain and 2 days exploring the Great Western Trail. We have not decided which trails to do which days. Trails have a rating of easy to moderate with 2 short sections rated difficult on each of the Great Western Trail days.

* Plan to head for home Thursday, March 31st.
